Thanks to the dedication, generosity and enthusiasm of our donors, volunteers, shoppers and supporters we’re able to raise around £4.15 million every year.

But we have to work hard to raise these vital funds, and key to this is sustainable regular income. This helps generate money we can rely on, and means we’re able to plan for the future.

Our income can be broken down into money raised by fundraisers, money earned through trading, and money given through grants and earned from investments.

Fundraising

We’re so grateful to our incredible fundraisers and supporters who help raise hundreds of thousands of pounds every year through events, donations, our lottery and other giving. Find out more about how you can support us.

We’re committed to be responsible and respectful in our fundraising, and are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and abide by their code of practice and regulations. We also have our own Fundraising Charter to embed this best practice within our fundraising activities.

Legacies

Each year we’re so grateful to the supporters who choose to leave gifts to us in their Will. Whilst this money varies each year, it’s absolutely essential income for our work and in 2020/21 we received £2.6 million from legacies. This follows continued investment in our Free Wills campaign each March.

Trading

Our network of charity shops across Wales and England are a key sustainable income stream for us. They also connect us with communities across the country and help raise awareness of our campaigns and services.

We also make money through trading via our eBay store, through which we sell new and used goods.

Grants and investments

We’re lucky enough to receive kind support from a range of Trusts and Foundations, who help fund our services and research. As well as this, we have fixed asset investments which generate funds to supplement our reserves and our other income generating activities.
